We're excited to be able to take part in and share one of Origin Coffee Roasting's lesser known traditions with this special, limited release blend. Several years ago, Origin's roasters got together and decided that, for the festive season, they would make a blend comprised of some of the highest quality single origins they had available. Because of the delicious results, this became an annual tradition - an opportunity for them to fully express their creativity in blending, without the usual constraints on input costs.
Why The Angry Goat? The very first edition of this festive season blend had a quirky chewy texture that inspired the title. Although that chewy texture didn't fully re-appear in subsequent years, the name stuck. Given the history and the purported importance of goats in the original discovery of coffee, it seems fitting!
History and goats aside, we know that you'll love this coffee. It showcases blending at its best and provides a flavour experience of note for the adventurous coffee lover. This edition has lots of tangy fruit flavours like citrus, orange or tart berries, as well as an underlying sweetness that may remind you of caramel or very ripe dark fruit. The mouth feel is creamy, round and luxurious. The blend is very versatile and will make a great espresso as much as a filter brew.
