Mike, Origin Coffee Roasting's head roaster actually visited the Ecoagricola farm, where this coffee was grown quite recently. He tells us that it's a pretty serious operation, of the type that the massive Brazilian coffee industry is known for. It uses the latest, state of the art coffee technology including mechanical pickers, depulpers and dryers.
Some people think that this kind of high-tech operation won't provide the quality that more manual operations can, but tasting this coffee may make you think otherwise! Despite its large 1,500 hectare size, Ecoagricola is still a family-run farm, and careful attention to detail, with additional touches like hand sorting after cherry picking, ensure the quality standards are very high.
In the cup, this coffee is a naturally sugary delight, at least in part due to its natural processing. You'll find it syrupy, full-bodied and constantly revealing subtle hints of fruit. It should be a pleasure to drink every day, with its fair share of complexity and nuance to enjoy for the adventurous coffee palate. We'd highly recommend it for espresso or filter, as well as Aeropress and French press brews.
