Believe it or not, this is the first Kenyan coffee we've had from our friends at The Portland Project but it was well worth the wait! While offering some hints of the classic Kenyan characteristics, this coffee is actually quite unique in its flavour profile. It is roasted a bit lighter than your typical Portland Project coffee, with delicious results.
This Kenyan single origin is delightfully sweet. It reminded us both of honey and of candied lemon in quite a few cups, depending on the brewing parameters. There is a zesty, citric acidity that only adds to that sweet lemon flavour and the finish is long and luxuriously sweet.
This is one of those coffees that we would recommend that you brew every which way you can. We found something different and delectable in every cup. In some methods, there is additional savoury, almost herb-like quality that emerges, that only adds to the whole flavour experience.
