Because of lockdown-related roasting schedule changes, we unfortunately cannot guarantee that these beans will be within 2 weeks of roast date.
We receive fresh deliveries of these coffee beans twice per week. Please allow up to 3-4 working days after you order for dispatch in case we need to wait for the next delivery.
We share a soft spot with our friends at Origin Coffee Roasting for Kenyan coffee. The best of the country's crops are fruity, bold, bright & simply delicious. This one is an AB lot. That isn't a quality grade, but rather a screen size - in other words, it's a lot of slightly smaller beans than their AA brethren. While AAs often take top billing, many ABs have wonderful profiles to offer, and we tend to find that this includes a more subtle level of acidity.
We had the opportunity to taste this particular Kenya AB at the African Coffee Experience cupping sessions at The Cape Town Coffee Festival. It was without a doubt, one of the two that stood out from a whole table of delicious African beans. We've relished getting through our sample bag at CCBHQ, and we'd encourage you to treat yourself to some!
In the cup, this coffee has everything you'd want from a Kenyan single origin coffee. It has a medium body, with a balanced but tangy acidity, lots of sweetness and some wonderful, complex fruit flavours to enjoy. While the more typical notes of citrus and tart berries are subtly present, we found more tropical fruit flavours to our palates, and the finish is reminiscent of black grapes.
We'd encourage you to try this coffee every which way you can, but definitely in a pour-over if you have access to one!
