Behmor’s mesh filter is reusable and works with or without a paper filter. The main difference is that metal mesh filters (such as this, the AeroPress stainless steel filter or your typical French press filter) are more porous than paper filters, and thus allow more coffee oils and fines to pass into the cup. This can result in a more flavourful coffee with a richer body, but also a layer of sediment at the bottom of your cup that you may not be keen to drink. In that case, you can supplement the Brazen mesh with these paper filters for a cleaner, clearer cup.
