About the Eureka Mignon Oro Single Dose Coffee Grinder

A single-dose grinder is one that is designed for baristas who want to use different coffees while also maintaining tight control of their extraction variables. They are a new, emerging category in the espresso space, but a rapidly growing one, primarily fueled by home espresso fanatics who want to make the very best coffee. Single-dose grinders are designed to let you enter pre-weighed amounts of beans, of an individual coffee, and grind it all while losing little to retention.

The Eureka Mignon Oro Single Dose, Eureka's first entrant into this important new category of grinders, has been much anticipated. Unsurprisingly, it seems to be living up to the high expectations of the industry. The grinder is fitted with 65mm, patented "Pure Diamond" burrs for speed and consistency. It is tilted at 15° which has been shown to improve grinding performance and lower retention. It is also fitted with a bellows hopper, allowing the barista to ensure that no grinds are left behind in the chute.

Unlike a traditional espresso grinder, the Eureka Mignon Single Dose grinder is designed to grind into a dosing cup rather than a portafilter. This allows the barista to double-check the weight of the output easily, and also improve distribution while transferring to the portafilter.
