We are looking for a budding marketer with creative, digital and analytical skills, as well as a genuine passion for speciality coffee to join our team as a Market Assistant. The role will involve working closely with the founder on all aspects of marketing including ppc, social media and email, as well as helping to create product pages and generate creative campaigns.
This is a full time position, that would be primarily based at our HQ in Claremont, Cape Town.
We're looking for someone to join the team as a Marketing Assistant, to help build on our success and momentum both online and offline. We’re not necessarily looking for years of experience in any particular marketing discipline, but rather a young, ambitious jack of all (marketing) trades who can work closely with the founder on all aspects of our marketing: creative, verbal, digital and analytical.
The scope of the role would include (but wouldn’t necessarily be limited to):
- Drafting email marketing campaigns
- Drafting product pages
- Managing adwords ppc campaigns
- Managing our social media channels
- Generating creative ideas for campaigns
- Creating, managing and executing on a marketing calendar
- General copywriting
- Creating and taking advantage of PR opportunities
While you would primarily be dealing with the items mentioned above, we're a small team and so we all have to pitch in on other aspects of the business at some point. Cape Coffee Beans is also part of a small group of businesses, and while the vast majority of your time would be spent on CCB, you would also occasionally need to carry out tasks related to the other business units.
To succeed in this role, you must have:

- Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms

It would also be helpful (but not necessarily essential) to have:
- Photo editing skills
- Experience with Shopify
- Experience with MailChimp
- Video editing skills
- Experience in the coffee industry
- Experience in eCommerce and/or retail
- Web development and design skills
- SEO experience and/or skills

This job would provide an extremely broad set of marketing-related experience, as well as ample opportunities for learning and growth within the company. You would also learn a lot about entrepreneurship, eCommerce, retail, and of course coffee.
