Please note that espresso grinders are tested before dispatch. This may result in some residual coffee grounds in the grinder. Rest assured that this is a brand new product that has been tested to ensure optimal performance
Eureka is one of the most reputable manufacturers in the espresso grinder space. One of their most recognisable designs is the compact and aptly named Mignon range. The Mignon grinders have been around for many years, and are built in a small enough package for domestic use, but robustly enough for low volume commercial applications. The Silenzio is one of the latest releases in that form factor.
As reliable, hardy, consistent and easy to use as its predecessors, the new Eureka Mignon Silenzio has some pretty handy features for any barista. First and foremost, as the name implies, it's surprisingly quiet for an espresso grinder, thanks to its sound-insulated construction. It also features both manual, and time-based dosing, using a dial next to the power button. It's also completely stepless and easy to adjust!
The Mignon Silenzio comes in two variants, one with 50mm hardened steel burrs, and one with 55mm burrs. The only major difference between the two is that the 55mm model is noticeably faster, but still pleasantly quiet. While at its best in the espresso range, it also does pretty well on coarser grinds, making it a perfect all-around grinder for the space-constrained home barista. It features a "hands-free" portafilter fork, that is removable, allowing you to grind into whatever you choose*. It even includes anti-clumping technology, making it a great companion to any high-end domestic espresso machine.

* A note on grinding for manual brewing
While this Eureka grinder is very capable of producing high-quality grinds at many different grind settings, the adjustment dial is calibrated to make it very easy to fine-tune for espresso. It is not ideal for going back and forth between manual brew settings and espresso settings, as it required multiple turns of the dial to do so. That means you may need to spend a bit of time and coffee testing to get back to your desired setting.

Great Service
Awesome Grinder, quiet and great to have the manual and timed grinder option. Helps for a first timer!! Super fast deliver and great service
Game-changer
5 Shots in after taking a few shots to calibrate it, and I am blown away by this grinder. I was using a Rancilio Rocky for a few years, and while it got the job done, there was inconsistency in the shots, not to mention occasional channeling. This grinder, through some technological trickery, manages to not only negate clumping but also static build up, so the grind is predictable and consistent, far easier to distribute, and no channeling to speak of. It also lives up to its name by being remarkably quiet. If I were forced to present a criticism, I would say that it retains 0.2 to 0.4 grams, but that is nit-picky and not an issue at all. Remarkable grinder, highly recommended.
Great grinder
What a quiet grinder!! I managed to get the time perfectly set for my 17g dose and it works very well. No clumping at all and just a quiet perfectly consistent grind for my espressos. It's so solid and then of course very good-looking as well!
Really great grinder
I was looking to get a grinder purely for espresso. The Silenzio replaces my Macap M2M grinder and whilst the Macap is good the Silenzio beats it despite similar specs on paper. The coffee simply tastes better before we get to ease of use etc. The Silenzio certainly lives up to it's name. It is VERY quiet. The portafilter holder works well and clumping is virtually nonexistent (unlike the Macap). There is very little waste too as the grinder fills the portafilter very well and neatly. I have not noticed any static issues. It's a simple machine with an analogue timer if you wish to use it. Eureka have updated their grinder brilliantly and I'm sure the other variants in the Mignon line are also great especially if you want a digital timer (Specialita). I doubt you could find a better grinder at this price point that produces such consistent espresso grinds, looks this good, takes up little counter space and is sooo quiet.
