We did it again! Last year, we released a special blend to celebrate our 11th birthday, in collaboration with our friends at Cedar. We had such fun doing it, and everyone loved the coffee so much, that we decided we had to do it again. We thought it would be even more fun to work with another one of our talented coffee partners, and it was an easy choice to go to our friends at Quaffee next. After all, they have an incredible selection of blends and single origin coffees, and they've been doing this specialty coffee thing for longer than most of us have been drinking coffee.

So we contacted Warren and we said, "Warren, let's make a blend for autumn" and Warren showed up with a bunch of delicious single origins and we got out the cupping bowls and got to work. To be fair, Warren did most of the work but we did most of the tasting, and pretty quickly we aligned around 3 components and the exact proportions that we enjoyed best, and voila: the Autumn Blend was born! We love it, and we hope you will too.

This is going to be a limited release; we've printed a certain amount of limited edition Cape Quaffee boxes and once those are gone, that'll be that. We'd encourage you to try this coffee while you can. We think it perfectly blends (pun intended) balance and intrigue, and should be just what you need to enjoy those slightly chillier autumn mornings, that little bit more.

I'm so happy with this coffee. It feels like a way to show the world why we love Quaffee so much, but also an opportunity to craft the kind of blend we want to drink. It has many of the qualities we at CCB enjoy: it's sweet, it's fruity and it has a decent amount of acidity, but it also has the balance and easy-drinking quality of a great blend.

I enjoyed the coffee on the cupping table when I first tried this particular recipe, but I loved it even more once I took it home and brewed with it. In my AeroPress, I picked up cherry notes. In my V60 and particularly in my siphon, it veered more towards yellow stone fruit, and in immersion brews generally (particularly filtered) there was also a spicy quality.
