Legado Coffee Roasters approaches specialty coffee through rigorous sourcing, small-batch roasting, and strict quality control. Based in Stellenbosch, its operations were built around an inherited, classic Diedrich roaster back in 2010. Legado offers carefully considered roasting profiles to highlight the flavour of both its single-origin lots and blends.
Our friends at Legado Coffee Roasters created the Journeyman Blend for espresso drinkers looking for good value for money. This seasonal blend is an affordable alternative to Legado's primary Espresso Blend and single-origin offerings that still offers great quality. The coffee is roasted medium to dark. As a seasonal offering, its components shift according to yearly supply; however, Legado always strives to maintain balance, sweetness, with a pleasant mouthfeel.
The current Journeyman Blend is composed of a natural Brazilian coffee from the Cerrado region and a washed Ugandan coffee grown near the foot of Mt Elgon. Developed as an espresso blend, this coffee is also great as an everyday drinking option for filter and other manual brewing methods.
Legado's notes
"We chose the name Journeyman, as journeymen were known as tradesmen newly qualified and gaining experience in their field. We see this blend as a 'training ground' for coffees that are entering the specialty category, to find a trade route and grow in potential. Brazil & Uganda are two very exciting origins, growing massively in pushing out coffee exuding both quality and equality."
- Tasting notes: Milk chocolate & roasted cashew nuts
- Acidity: Low
- Body: Full-bodied & smooth
- Roast: Medium to dark

"Our Journeyman Blend is the starting point to your journey into the world of exceptional specialty coffee.
