Yes, we may be black coffee snobs at CCB. We believe in foregoing the cow juice. We think that you should taste coffees black, but we're also not kidding ourselves; we're definitely in the minority. Most people like their coffee with milk, and why shouldn't they? The reality is that a perfectly poured espresso and milk combination is a delicious treat. It may not be coffee at its purest, but it's definitely enjoyable.

Our friends at Cedar agree, and so they've made this blend for all the dairy lovers out there. It offers a slightly "heavier" profile than their other coffees, with a fair bit of development on the roast. That means it will provide a satisfying extraction in a moka pot or bean to cup (as well as espresso of course) and will have the weight and body to carry through that creamy bovine-derived goodness.

The team at CCBHQ will tell you that I'm not a milk guy. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't think that a perfectly balanced flat white or cortado is delicious. I just know that what you taste in that format is as much the milk as it is the coffee (if not more). That's why I make sure to try all the coffees we sell black, though admittedly, I've softened my stance a little and will enjoy a drink with milk a couple of times a month as a treat these days.

Funnily enough, I've tasted Cedar's Milky Way blend a few ways so far, but none of them was with milk; I don't keep the stuff at my home. Still, I found a lot to enjoy in this coffee. You could think of this as the Cedar blend that you can share with your parents. It's balanced, sweet, and well-roasted, but it just has a bit more of that "oomph", a bit more of that "coffee coffee" flavour that older generations expect to find. Lovers of more traditional Italian-style blends will enjoy this one, but our friends at Cedar have not gone over the top with development, so it's still very tasty black. Give it a shot as an espresso, moka pot, AeroPress or siphon. Throw in a little milk. Treat yourself. Why not?

This blend came about through client feedback and quite a lot of roasting and tasting. We found that people enjoyed milk with their coffee and sometimes quite a lot of it. The one thing we always aim to achieve is balance and sweetness. We introduce to you our Milky Way Blend. This is designed for all you milk lovers and mug drinkers.

Our aim was simply to produce a flavour profile that can hold good sweetness and cut through all that milk. This blend has also been designed for bean-to-cup machines you would typically find at your workplace. Although it's meant for milk, it still packs quite a punch with heavier flavour tones. Perfect for espresso and Moka pot as well.
