Formerly known as The Special Blend, The Lover's Blend is another example of what Tribe does best: roast classic, medium/dark espresso blends. Offering an alternative to its very popular flagship blend, this one has some slightly different flavour notes to enjoy.
It's quite sweet, with a honey-like characteristic. While it has some definite cocoa notes, it also had a subtle toasted sesame flavour to our palates which made it quite intriguing.
To get optimal results, we used quite short espresso extractions around 20s.
Roaster's notes
This coffee started as a love letter to remind a special person of South Africa and its amazing people and places. Then it was lost for a year … so too was the love … recently we rediscovered this blend when the lovers reunited.

Great espresso beans
I am by no means an expert but an enthusiast with a very good home espresso set up. I pull espressos, with varying quality, dependant on the bean. This particular blend produces great results each time. Trying to figure what I am doing wrong with other coffee to be honest, but always know I get a fantastic extraction using Tribe.

HORRIBLE!!!!
I bought a whole 1kg bag of this coffee. This is literally the worst tasting coffee I had in my life. It tastes like metal. I gave it a good shot on different brewers, can’t seem to get it palatable.
