1Zpresso may still be the new kids on the block relative to more established manual grinder brands like Timemore and Comandante, but they’ve already made quite a name for themselves. About the 1Zpresso K-Ultra Manual Coffee Grinder
As you’ve likely already guessed, the K-Ultra is the latest and greatest (so far) addition to 1Zpresso’s K series of hand grinders. Like the K-Pro and K-Max before it, the K-Ultra sports a beefy 48mm stainless steel burr set, the unique heptagonal shape of which ensures greater grind consistency and smooth grinding on even the coarsest and finest of settings. It’s also fitted with 1Zpresso’s unique external grind adjustment dial, just like its forebears, a convenient design feature that scored the brand a Red Dot Design Award in 2018.
Where the K-Ultra iterates on its predecessors is in adjustment precision. The adjustment dial boasts 10 visible adjustment number settings and 100 clicks per rotation, a full 10 more than the K-Pro offers. Additionally, each click of the dial represents an adjustment of ~20 microns, which makes the K-Ultra the most precise grinder in the K series lineup. The K-Ultra also has a sleek new look, with a rounder body and curved edges that provide a comfortable, secure grip. It also features a new foldable handle, making it the most compact and portable K-series 1Zpresso grinder too.
With a unique burr set and super-precise adjustment mechanism, the K-Ultra really can grind for any brewing method, from a coarse French Press to an ultra-fine Turkish coffee, and allows you to fine-tune your grind and therefore your coffee’s flavour with exacting precision.
