Truth Coffee Roasting has built its reputation around its versatile and flavourful blends, so we're quite excited to be able to share this single-origin offering from this iconic Cape Town coffee brand.
The coffee comes from the Alana estate in the former state of Mysore in India, now part of Karnataka. While the geographic area no longer bears the name, the coffees from that area are still referred to as Indian Mysore.
Phaedon's tasting notes
Heavy and quirky are the first words that come to mind when tasting this coffee. It's one that will appeal to those who like a traditional espresso, a full body, and none of that new-fangled fruity jazz. You may find some nut flavours in some cups, and a dark chocolate finish in most, but what you'll primarily appreciate is that bold, round full coffee flavour, with a little hint of spice.
This coffee makes a particularly mean moka pot brew. I found mine tasted a bit like a peanut butter cup.
Truth's notes
This luxurious Truth micro-lot single origin has a spicy, heavy and unusual aroma and comes from the Alana estate in the Mysore district in India; it's perfect for espresso and filter-based coffees.
