The Bodum Kenya French press is a modern take on this traditional coffee brewing method by the very company that brought it to the masses. Bodum has been selling coffee plungers since the 1970s and played an instrumental role in their popularisation throughout the world.
The Kenya is true to its origins with its replaceable borosilicate glass beaker that will last for years and can easily be cleaned in the dishwasher or by hand. Its 3 part filter and plunger mechanism is made of durable stainless steel and can also be unscrewed and put into the dishwasher for cleaning.
Where this modern French press differs from its predecessors is in its stylish black plastic frame which looks good while also serving more practical purposes. It provides some protection for the glass beaker against knocks while also insulating the bottom to prevent scorching of the surface it rests on.

Great coffee
This is my second plunger, I needed a backup for when the first one is in the dishwasher.
Bodum Kenya French Press
Having happily used one of these for years I gave this purchase as a 21st birthday gift and it was greatly appreciated. With careful packing it travels well too. Another benefit of the Bodum is that replacement glass beakers are readily available, I've had to buy two from CCB. Try doing that with a cheapo no name brand... Great service from CCB, as usual. Thanks guys.
Quality is fine, but the size is an issue
I purchased these bodums as I wanted something large enough to make two full size cups of coffee. I chose this option as the description said specifically listed 3 cups on the box. This plunger does not make anything close to three cups of coffee, but maybe three espressos. Unfortunately, while the quality is good and the product is attractive, the quantity it produces is the issue.
Disappointing purchase!
After purchasing such a reputable brand as Bodum, I was very disappointed to find that the plunger unit did not seal tightly and was letting sediment through into my coffee when I poured.
Pretty but not much else
Filter lets coffee through - so I would not spend this type of money on this product again.
