Cedar's seasonal espresso blend is crafted to please most palates. It's a combination of coffees from origins that already have broad appeal, perfectly blended to hit the spot, whether that's black or in a milk-based drink. It makes a great introduction to Cedar, and would be a great choice for coffee businesses as well as home brewers.
Phaedon's tasting notes
I've been telling a joke (mostly in my head, to myself) about how Cedar's Seasonal Blend reminds me of its founders, Leigh & Winston. It's very easy to get on with. You could even call it easygoing.
Silly jokes aside, I have no doubt that this coffee is a crowd-pleaser. There's nothing loud or brash in it. It's not dark and roasty. It's not overly acidic, though it's also not in any way flabby. It's mellow, yet full-flavoured. It's balanced, sweet, nutty and even a little fruity. In short, this is a blend that most people will really enjoy.
It will of course shine in espresso, both black and for milk-based drinks, but you'll be pleasantly surprised at how it fairs in manual brews. Not only does it make a sensational moka pot, but I thoroughly enjoyed it in my siphon, Chemex, French press, AeroPress and even MoccaMaster.
The latest edition of this coffee which includes a bit of Cedar's much loved and relatively rare Timor Leste coffee adds a bit more fruit to the profile. Discerning palates may pick up a little stone fruit in combination with those sweet, nutty balanced flavours that were also there in the previous edition.
Cedar's notes
- Cup Profile: Balanced, smooth mouthfeel, notes of pecan nuts & milk chocolate.
This is our signature blend where we aim to achieve a consistent flavour profile that provides a good balance of sweetness and body. Roast profile suits espresso-based drinks with its toned down acidity and smooth mouthfeel. A perfect coffee for the morning and everyday use. We prefer using this coffee for brewers that exemplify full body and bold notes such as espresso, plunger and moka-pots. Coffee is seasonal so expect our components to change throughout the year but maintain a consistent flavour profile.

Great everyday coffee!
I use this to make milky drinks, typically brewing 28g in a "4-6 cup" Moka pot. Works great with frothed or plain milk.

Good
More floral less nutty
It was difficult to work with at first and I was not enjoying it, so decided to really try and dial this coffee in, 8 double shots later I got a slight sour/acidic then sweet floral like notes and ending in a slight bitterness at the end, when paired with milk it really brings out a floral like taste, I’m not sure were the nutty notes are maybe lost in the bitterness or possibly my dialing needs more work.
Excellent daily milk drink
Excellent daily milk drink For people looking for a go-to standard coffee with excellent balance and flavour.
Delicious
I recently tried the Cedar Seasonal Blend and it was delicious. However, I have to admit that my favorite is still the Cedar Milky Blend. So, while I would definitely recommend the seasonal blend, I can only give it four stars as it didn't quite reach the level of my all-time favorite.
