If the name Hario itself is not the most ubiquitous symbol in the world of specialty coffee today, the Japanese company’s iconic conical V60 coffee dripper arguably is. The V60 took the world by storm during the mid-to-late 2000s as the third wave coffee movement began its ascension into the semi-mainstream, and it is now synonymous with the concept of modern manual coffee brewing as a whole. 

The smaller original V60 models (01 and 02) are already relatively portable thanks to their small size and durability (though we’re mainly referring to the plastic models here – ceramic and glass users will have to rely on their own judgement), but their shape can turn packing a hiking pack, briefcase or backpack into a more challenging game of Tetris than you might be interested in playing. The Hario Zebrang is the perfect solution to this problem. 

The Hario Zebrang is a two-piece kit that includes a silicone Hario V60-style cone dripper and a flat polypropylene platform that rests on your chosen brewing receptacle. The dripper itself actually lies flat when not in use and folds easily, making it eminently packable and portable. When it’s time to brew, simply roll it into shape, fasten its silicone buttons, throw in a filter and you’re ready to go. Plus, thanks to the dripper’s flat design when not in use and the small holes on its body, you can easily rinse it and hang it up to dry, making cleanup a cinch.

The most common size for the Hario V60 Coffee Dripper is the 02 version as it allows you to brew anything from a single cup up to 4 (though many find the best results are with 1-2 cups). As such, if you're not sure which one to get, we'd suggest the 02 model.

If you’re certain that you’re only going to be brewing a single cup at a time, the 01 (1 Cup) is a great option but please bear in mind that it's a challenge to make 2 full mugs of coffee using this size.
