The Mazzer Philos is a single-dose coffee grinder specially designed to fit on café counters or in domestic kitchens. The Philos is capable of seamlessly switching between grind settings for filter and espresso brewing, offering low retention and tool-free maintenance. This single-dose grinder comes with either I200D or I189D burrs but you can swap or replace them if your needs change or your burrs need replacing.

Designed and manufactured in-house by Mazzer specifically for the Philos, both burr sets are suitable for all brewing methods from filter to espresso. These 64mm burrs come factory-seasoned and are made from high-quality stainless steel, which prevents oxidation even when using the Ross Droplet Technique (RDT).

Choosing the right Mazzer Philos burr set

Choose the I200D burr set if you are looking for flavour clarity when brewing light to medium roasted coffees, as they enhance acidity. These burrs have been engineered with long, continuous teeth that gradually grind coffee as it moves toward the outer edge, producing a highly consistent, unimodal particle distribution with a low amount of fines.

On the other hand, choose the I189D set for medium to dark roasted coffees, as they produce a wider particle distribution. This set is an updated version of the popular Mazzer Mini burrs. This promotes a balanced extraction for a full-bodied cup with low acidity, perfect for fans of traditional Italian espresso.
