Barista Hustle is, first and foremost, a digital coffee education platform for baristas, business owners, and coffee-enthusiasts as a whole. Founded by Melbourne-based barista and 2012 World Brewers Cup champion Matt Perger, Barista Hustle conducts cutting-edge research related to all things coffee, from business best practices to barista technique to hardcore coffee chemistry, and uses its findings to develop and distribute industry-leading learning and training materials. More recently, Barista Hustle has turned its expertise towards researching, designing and selling both high-quality basic barista gear, as well as advanced coffee brewing tools under the moniker “Barista Hustle Tools”.

The Ring is Barista Hustle’s own dosing collar. Dosing collars are unassuming but useful puck prep tools that help keep your counter clean and aid even grind distribution into your portafilter. By raising a “lip” above your portafilter, the Ring lowers the chances of your grinds spraying out of the portafilter and provides a kind of chute for them to slide down, thus ensuring that they land more neatly within your filter basket. The Ring sports a reflective interior, making it easy to spot errant grinds when it comes time to clean up, and attaches conveniently and reliably via 8 neodymium magnets in the base. It’s also made purely of food-safe 304 stainless steel, so there’s no paint or coating to chip off over time, ensuring that the Ring will remain sleek and stylish as long as you have it.
