KINGrinder's manual coffee grinders have garnered a strong reputation among coffee enthusiasts for exceptional build quality at approachable price points. By prioritising precision stainless steel burr sets and highly-stable internals over cosmetic extras, the Taiwan-based brand continues to deliver outstanding performance. As South Africa's distributor, we are proud to introduce their latest model, engineered with a burr set that highlights cup vibrancy and offers distinct flavour separation for drip brew methods.
About the KINGrinder K7 Manual Coffee Grinder
The K7 is KINGrinder's filter-focused model, designed for dedicated fans of conical and flat-bottomed drip brewers who seek higher cup clarity and pronounced flavour separation. While models like the K1 and K6 offer versatile adjustments across both espresso and pour-over, the K7 features a specialised burr geometry engineered to produce significantly fewer fines. This reduces the risk of slow or clogged drawdowns, delivering vibrant, articulated cup profiles from pour-over brewers such as the Origami, Hario V60, Chemex, and Timemore's Crystal Eye.
Inside the K7's anodised aluminium body sits a 53mm heptagonal stainless steel burr set. The grinding chamber features an improved feeding geometry compared to the K6, while the dual-bearing shaft provides stable, fast grinding throughput. Adjusting your grind size on the K7 is intuitive thanks to the external collar with a rotation of 100 clicks. Each step shifts the burrs by 15 microns per click, giving you precise control over your particle size distribution and a wider usable grinding range than most manual grinders.
The KINGrinder K7 maintains the brand's user-focused elements while introducing subtle ergonomic refinements. These include a textured non-slip silicone grip and an easy-to-use calibration ring underneath the adjustment collar. To zero the K7, gently turn the grind adjustment ring anti-clockwise until it stops. Then, rotate the lower, zero point ring with a notch until it aligns with the number 0. Its internal chassis offers wobble-free stability regardless of roast degree or bean density, alongside tool-free disassembly for quick maintenance. The K7 has a secure screw-in catch cup, with magnetic rim, that holds 30g to 35g of coffee. While it provides a solid weight in the hand, it remains compact enough for travel. Included with the KINGrinder K7 are a handy cleaning brush, a grind size chart, a large O-ring for electric drill operation, and a small white O-ring to secure the curved handle.
